Egg White Oatmeal

Egg whites will add protein to your oatmeal and make it fluffier without really changing the flavor!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1 cup almond milk (or liquid of choice)
  • 1/2 cup egg whites
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 mashed banana (optional)

Instructions

  • Bring almond milk to a boil.

  • Add oats and reduce to medium heat, stirring regularly until the milk is absorbed. This should take about 5-6 minutes.

  • Add the mashed banana (if using) and cinnamon to the pot and stir until combined. Reduce to medium-low heat.

  • Mix in egg whites, stirring constantly until the egg whites are cooked. It’s helpful to add the egg whites gradually. This should take about 1-2 minutes.

  • Place in a bowl and serve with your favorite toppings!

Notes

You can adjust the amount of egg whites to your liking. I've used anywhere between 1/4 cup and 1 cup.
